Ray Stedman's sermon Follow the Leader is a classic. All people were made to follow some master, but not in a compulsory manner. We can choose to follow Jesus Christ, or choose to follow some other master. The shepherd promised by the Lord in Ezekiel 34:23-24 is an allusion to the Messiah. Christians believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah. As redeemed people, to live in the fullness of God’s presence, Christians must follow Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
