With a goal of teaching the Bible to transform adult lives, I search for object lessons, illustrations, exercises, etc. I post these (and some original ideas) in hopes other teachers will benefit, too.

On prayer
It's clear from the focal passage of the lesson, "When you have difficult decisions," that Jesus believed in prayer. That is, he prayed, so he clearly viewed it as necessary and desirable. But why? In what ways is prayer beneficial? Why is it necessary?
Because it seems difficult to see the connection between Jesus following His Father's will and we humans following God's will, I plan to have the class brainstorm 1) the evidence for Jesus' divinity and 2) evidence for Jesus' humanity. The point is that Jesus too, being fully human, went through struggles like we do.

Excellent idea.
